Perpetrators, masterminds of Crocus City Hall attack to be duly punished — senate speaker
Valentina Matviyenko noted that Russia’s Federal Security Service and other law enforcement agencies had shown the highest level of professionalism in promptly detaining those who directly carried out the attack
MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. All of the masterminds and perpetrators of the March 22 Crocus City Hall terrorist attack on a crowded suburban Moscow concert, as well as their accomplices, will not escape punishment no matter where they may be hiding, Russian Federation Council (upper house of parliament, or "senate") Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said.
"Undoubtedly, all those involved in this heinous terrorist attack will be duly punished in the harshest manner, including the direct perpetrators and their accomplices, as well as the masterminds of the terrorist attacks, no matter in which countries and behind what masks they may be hiding," she said at a Federation Council meeting.
Matviyenko added that Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and other law enforcement agencies had shown the highest level of professionalism in promptly detaining those who directly carried out the attack.
"The federal government and the regional authorities have been doing everything they can to provide assistance and support to the affected families. Our doctors have also done a great job," she said.
According to the Federation Council speaker, these days, the nation has once again made it clear that "it’s impossible to intimidate" the Russian people "or shake their moral foundations." "Russian society responded to this despicable crime with unity, compassion and mercy, which are qualities that all of Russia’s ethnic groups share. Our country has demonstrated its big loving heart," the politician concluded.
