Syrian Health Ministry confirms four deaths in Israeli strike on Damascus consulate
According to Hassan al-Ghabbash, 13 others were injured
BEIRUT, April 2. /TASS/. Syrian Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash has confirmed the death of four citizens in an Israeli strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported.
The minister told the agency that four Syrians were victims of the strike, while 13 others were injured. According to al-Ghabbash, most of the victims were seriously wounded and are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
On April 1, the Syrian news agency SANA reported that the Israeli air force had struck a building in Damascus. Iranian media reported that the Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital had been shelled. The Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) public relations office reported the deaths of seven military advisers, generals Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five officers. According to Iran's state-run IRIB TV channel, Zahedi commanded the IRGC's Al-Quds Special Forces units in Lebanon and Syria. The TV channel reported that in addition to the seven Iranian advisers, six Syrian nationals were killed.
