Investigative Committee’s war crimes unit investigates Crocus City Hall attack

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. The case of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall entertainment center in Krasnogorsk near Moscow is under the jurisdiction of the Department for Investigation of War Crimes, Genocide and neo-Nazism of the Russian Investigative Committee, as follows from the materials of the case read out at Moscow’s Basmanny court.
At the request of this department, the court arrested nine defendants, including four perpetrators of the terrorist attack and five alleged accomplices.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just outside the Moscow city limits. At least 144 people were killed. According to the latest data, some 382 people were injured, 217 of whom received medical assistance.
In connection with the incident, Russia declared nationwide mourning for the first time since 2018. All four perpetrators of the terrorist attack have been arrested, and five more people are seen by the investigators as accomplices. The Investigative Committee says it has proved the attackers’ connections with Ukrainian nationalists.
