Israeli Prime Minister’s Office expresses condolences over Crocus terrorist attack
To date, Benjamin Netanyahu has not commented on the Crocus City Hall tragedy
TEL AVIV, March 26. /TASS/. The Office of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack on a crowded event at the Crocus City Hall music venue in a Moscow suburb, comparing the actions of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, outlawed in Russia) with those of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims of the tragic terrorist attack in Moscow. Terrorism, the deliberate targeting of civilians for political or religious ends, is a heinous crime. All civilized nations should consistently condemn terrorist acts, regardless of the identity of the perpetrators, whether they are Hamas terrorists murdering Israeli civilians or ISIS terrorists murdering Russian civilians," the statement posted on the X page of the prime minister’s office said.
To date, Netanyahu has not commented on the Crocus City Hall tragedy. On March 23, Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the terrorist attack and called on all countries to resolutely combat terrorism.
On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just over the Moscow city limits. The current death toll is 139, and 182 people were injured. Eleven individuals suspected of being involved in the terrorist attack have been apprehended, including four gunmen who were detained in the Bryansk Region, southwest of Moscow, as they attempted to seek refuge by crossing the nearby Ukrainian border.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 25 that the attack was carried out by radical Islamists. He pointed out that Russia still had to clarify a number of issues related to the involvement of Islamists in the attack. At the same time, the Russian leader pointed to the fact that the US is trying to convince everyone that there was no Ukrainian trace in the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall.
