KALININGRAD, March 25. /TASS/. Three people died on the fishing boat The Kapitan Lobanov in the Baltic Sea near Kaliningrad, the regional government’s spokesman Dmitry Lyskov has said.
"According to the information confirmed earlier today, three people died on the fishing boat The Kapitan Lobanov. One man is still in serious condition. Three more sailors were discharged from hospital for outpatient treatment. Their lives are not at risk," said Lyskov.
On March 19, a fire broke out on board The Kapitan Lobanov. Earlier, it was reported that there were seven people on board. One person died, three were taken to hospital and three more allowed to go home.
The region’s governor, Anton Alikhanov issued orders to pay a compensation of 1 million rubles to the families of the dead and 500 thousand rubles to those injured in the incident. The governor and other regional authorities expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy and full recovery to the injured.
The vessel was towed to the port of Baltiysk.
The fishing boat The Kapitan Lobanov, according to open sources, belongs to the company LLC Marine firm Stalaktit. In June 2021, this vessel capsized and partially sank in the Kaliningrad shipping canal of the Kaliningrad Bay. No one was harmed then.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kaliningrad region will provide the owner of the wrecked vessel with all possible support, Lyskov said.
