MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. One person died and two more were injured in the crash landing of a helicopter in Russia’s Far Eastern Magadan Region, the Russian Air Transport Agency said.
"According to preliminary data, the helicopter, which was on its way from the Kvartsevy goldmine to Omsukchan, was carrying 20 people. Regrettably, one of them died. Two are in serious condition," it wrote on its Telegram channel.
According to the agency, rescuers are on their way to the crash site using all-terrain vehicles. Helicopters cannot be used to evacuate people because of the bad weather.
Earlier, a spokesman for the local emergencies services told TASS that a Mi-8 helicopter carrying rotation workers had made a crash landing presumably due to the engine failure.
