MOSCOW, January 5. /TASS/. Russian air defense systems intercepted five Ukrainian drones over the western part of the Black Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

"An attempt of the Kiev regime to commit a terrorist attack with the use of five fixed-wing type unmanned aerial vehicles against facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation was curbed at about 08:00 p.m. Moscow time [05:00 p.m. GMT]," the ministry said.

"All the Ukrainian drones were intercepted over the western part of the Black Sea water area by air defense assets on duty," the ministry added.
