Russian air defenses shoot down four aerial targets near Belgorod
According to preliminary reports, a man suffered shrapnel injuries to his arms and legs
MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Air defenses shot down four aerial targets near the city of Belgorod, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
"Our air defenses downed four aerial targets coming towards Belgorod and the Belgorodsky Region. Emergency services are collecting information about consequences on the ground. According to preliminary reports, a man suffered shrapnel injuries to his arms and legs," Gladkov wrote on Telegram.
He added later that a woman had suffered a shrapnel wound to her arm.
The Ukrainian armed forces carried out an attack on downtown Belgorod on December 30, using two cluster munition rockets and Czech-made rockets. According to the latest data, the attack killed 25 people, including five children, and left over 100 wounded. The Russian Defense Ministry said on December 31 that a retaliatory strike had been conducted on Ukrainian military facilities.
