DONETSK, January 2. /TASS/. The armed forces of Ukraine carried out 58 shelling attacks on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past day, killing five and wounding 14 civilians, the DPR mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukrainian war crimes said early on Tuesday.

"Over the past 24 hours, the mission reported 58 shelling attacks by Ukrainian armed groups. There are reports the death of five civilians in the Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk and the Central City district of Gorlovka. 14 civilians received wounds of varying degrees of severity in the Voroshilovsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk," the mission said in a statement.

The mission noted that during the shelling, 45 residential buildings were damaged in the Voroshilovsky, Budennovsky districts of Donetsk, Nikitovsky, Tsentralno-Gorodsky districts of Gorlovka, as well as 23 civilian infrastructure facilities. The Ukrainian armed forces fired 226 munitions of various types.
