A representative of the local emergency services noted that the Ukrainian troops deliberately attacked civilian infrastructure
MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/. More than a half of buildings that were damaged in Ukraine’s shelling attack on Belgorod are residential houses, a spokesman for the local emergencies services told TASS.
"The damaged buildings and structures are now being examined. Their exact number is being specified. So far, it can be said that most of them are residential houses, both multi-apartment blocks and single-family homes. The rest are administrative and commercial facilities. There are not a single military facility among them," he said, adding that Ukrainian troop were deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure.
Ukrainian troops have been shelling Belgorod and the Belgorod Region since late Friday. The latest strike was delivered on downtown Belgorod with the use of cluster munitions from Czech-made multiple rocket launchers. At least 18 people, including three children, were killed and 111 others were injured. According to the Russian defense ministry, air defense systems intercepted both missiles and most of the projectiles. Otherwise, the consequences would have been much more serious, it added.
