Gale-force wind leaves some 100,000 people without power in Rostov Region

ROSTOV-ON-DON, November 27. /TASS/. About 100,000 people in Russia’s southern Rostov Region have been left without power because of gale-force wind, the region’s governor, Vasily Golubev said on Monday.

"Due to breaks in power transmission lines, around 100,000 people have been left without power. As many as 113 repair brigades are working to restore power supplies," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Apart from that, according to Golubev, traffic along the Yeysk-Azov motorway has been closed due to flooding.

The worst situation is reported in the cities of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, and in the Azov, Myasnikovsky, and Neklinovsky districts, where 116 temporary accommodation centers have been organized for people evacuated from affected areas.

According to weather forecasts, dramatic water level raising and floods are expected on the Taganrog Bay coast due to the hurricane-force southwestern winds on November 27.
