MOSCOW, July 9. /TASS/. A magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit off Taiwan on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter was located 87 kilometers east of the city of Hengchun with a population of around 31,200.

No casualties or damage were reported. No tsunami warning was issued.
