Ukrainian pilot detained in Bryansk Region was guided via communication devices

The pilot, who landed near the settlement of Butovsk, was spotted by local residents, who contacted security agencies

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. The Ukrainian plane that crashed in the Bryansk Region was supposedly guided via communication devices, there was no second plane, a representative of the Russian National Guard told TASS Wednesday.

"The pilot was presumably guided via communications devices. There was no second plane. In his own words, he was promise 50,000 hryvnas [for the mission]," he said.

The representative added that the pilot was promised a reward for aerial reconnaissance mission. The pilot, who landed near the settlement of Butovsk, was spotted by local residents, who contacted security agencies. The representative noted that the apprehension operation involved the all regional security agencies, including police, National Guard and border security servicemen.

Butovsk is located about 60 km away from the Ukrainian border. According to the Klintosvky District Head Viktor Savchenko, that plane crash caused no injuries or damage on the ground.
