TASS, April 2. A magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit Papua New Guinea on Sunday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The epicenter was located at a depth of 73 kilometers some 38 kilometers southeast of the city of Ambunti with a population of around 2,000.
No casualties or damage were reported. No tsunami warning was issued.
