MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. An explosion took place in an apartment building in the Zabaykalsky Region’s administrative center, Chita, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS on Thursday.

"Blast in a five-story apartment building, the fourth and the fifth floors were destroyed," the Emergencies Ministry said, revealing the address of the accident: the city of Chita, Antipikha settlement, Borovaya street.

The Russian Interior Ministry’s Zabaykalsky Region branch told TASS that it was a domestic gas explosion. According to its information, one person was injured in the blast.

The emergency services added that at least five apartments were damaged as a result of the accident.
