It is emphasized that Iran has repeatedly notified the Iraqi authorities of the need for preventing destructive activities by Kurdish counter-revolutionary groups based in Iraqi Kurdistan

TEHRAN, February 1. /TASS/. Kurdish counter-revolutionary organizations in Iraq were involved in the failed drone attack on the logistic facility of the Iranian Defense Ministry and Armed Forces in Isfahan, the Iranian portal Nournews, close to the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, has said.

On Tuesday, the portal reported that Iranian security forces had identified a drone manufacturer without providing further details.

Now, Nournews reports that Kurdish counter-revolutionary groups based in Iraqi Kurdistan had brought "parts and materials" to Iran, where UAVs were assembled "in an equipped workshop." Explosives for the drones had been delivered in the same way via "one of the inaccessible routes in the northwest."

According to Nournews, in August last year, a terrorist group consisting of Kurdish opposition elements organized by the Israeli spy agency for exploding industrial facilities in Isfahan, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence.

Nournews emphasizes that Iran has repeatedly notified the Iraqi authorities of the need for preventing destructive activities by Kurdish counter-revolutionary groups based in Iraqi Kurdistan. According to the portal, "continuation of the terrorist activities of these groups against Iran shows that the Iraqi government has not yet able to completely fulfill its legal responsibilities in this regard."

On Sunday, the IRNA news agency reported that a large explosion occurred in the city of Isfahan, located in the central part of Iran, late Saturday. Later, the Defense Ministry said it was an unsuccessful drone attack on one of its centers. One UAV was shot down and the other two were caught in defense traps and exploded. No one was hurt, and only minor material damage was caused. The statement did not specify who, in Tehran’s view, was involved in the attack.
