Authorities do not rule out that Istiklal street blast in Istanbul was terror attack

ANKARA, November 13. /TASS/. The blast that rocked Istanbul’s Istiklal Caddesi pedestrian street on Sunday might have been caused by a terror attack, Mynet news portal said on its Twitter account.
According to Mynet, law enforcers are analyzing records from all surveillance cameras to find out where a bag stuffed with explosive substances had been placed. A terror attack is not ruled out.
According to the Yeni Safak daily, Istanbul’s prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation of the Istiklal blast and terror attack is considered as one of the theories.
According to Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, the blast occurred in the Istiklal Caddesi street in the Beyoglu district at about 16:20 local time today. Several people were killed and injured.
A source in Turkey’s law enforcement agencies told TASS that so far nothing is known about the nationality of those killed or injured in the blast. He also said that people are being evacuated from adjacent streets.
