Thailand shooting death toll rises to 36, including 24 children — media

TASS, October 6. The death toll in a shooting at a children's center in northeast Thailand has risen to 36, including 24 children, the Thai newspaper Khaosod reported on Thursday.

According to its information, at least 12 people were also injured. Earlier it had reported 34 deaths, including 22 children.

The youngest of the dead children is two years old, Reuters reported.

It is noted that the attacker also shot his wife and child before taking his own life. The motive for the crime is still unknown.

The incident took place in the Nong Bua Lamphu province. The shooter was a former police officer who was fired last year for drug-related reasons, Reuters noted.
