French anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office launches probe into reporter’s death in Ukraine

According to BFM TV, Leclerc-Imhoff is the eight journalists killed in Ukraine since the outbreak of the conflict

PARIS, May 30. /TASS/. The French national anti-terrorist prosecutor's office said on Monday it has launched a probe into the death of BFM TV cameraman Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff in Ukraine.

"The investigation is conducted into an attack on civilians who do not participate in combat operations," it said.

According to BFM TV, Leclerc-Imhoff is the eight journalists killed in Ukraine since the outbreak of the conflict.

BFM TV reported that the 32-year-old journalist worked as a camera man for the French television channel. This was his second trip to the zone of combat actions. According to the report, the journalist was in an armored vehicle and was killed when a shell exploded.

According to Reporters Without Borders, as many as 28 journalists have been killed while doing their job in the world since the beginning of the year.
