Woman injured in recent shelling of western Russian village dies of injuries - governor

A man, who was also injured in the shelling, is now in hospital in critical condition

MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. A woman, injured in the latest shelling of Zhuravlevka, a village in western Russia's Belgorod Region on the border with Ukraine, has died of injuries, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel on Friday morning.

"The woman who was injured yesterday succumbed to her injuries," the official said.

A man, who was also injured in the shelling, is now in hospital in critical condition, Gladkov added.

Since March 23, a state of emergency has been in effect in the villages of Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka following shelling by Ukraine. Most of the population was evacuated to Belgorod. According to the governor, these villages are subjected to shelling almost every day.
