Almost 60 houses damaged in Belgorod Region village after Ukraine’s shelling
It came under fire from Ukrainian territory the day before
MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The village of Solokhi in the Belgorod Region came under fire from Ukrainian territory several times over the past few days, with damage caused to 59 houses, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Thursday.
"Over the past few days, our border village of Solokhi has been shelled several times from Ukrainian territory. Yesterday, the shells damaged 19 homes, including 14 for the second time. Overall, recovery works will have to be carried out in 59 houses," the governor wrote on his Telegram channel.
Construction workers temporarily plugged window frames and roofing and a decision was made to suspend basic works for two or three days until the situation in the village stabilized. Efforts are underway to restore electricity supply in the village, Gladkov said.
The village of Solokhi in the Belgorod Region came under fire from Ukrainian territory on May 18. On May 11, the Ukrainian military shelled the community, wounding seven civilians and killing an 18-year-old resident.
