MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. A suspect in a shooting incident that took place on Friday in the US capital of Washington, DC, has died, CNN reported, citing police.

"The suspect that we believe is responsible for this is now deceased," DC Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said, as cited by CNN. "We believe that the suspect took his own life as MPD members were entering or breaching the apartment where the suspect was located," he noted, adding that police weren’t looking for another suspect.

The shooting occurred near the University of the District of Columbia. Reuters reported that the suspect had opened fire on random victims from a sniper's nest on the upper floor of an apartment building, wounding four people.
