Village in Russia’s Belgorod region shelled from Ukraine - governor

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. The village of Golovchino in Russia’s Belgorod region has been shelled from the side of Ukraine, there is destruction, the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said adding that one woman has been injured.
"There is a victim, this is a local resident. She is now receiving all the necessary medical assistance," the head of the Belgorod region wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the village of Golovchino, in the Graivoronsky district, was shelled from Ukraine. He also reported about destruction in the village adding that the regional authorities are conducting a house-to-house inspection.
The village is located about 50 km from Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine. Its is population is about 4,000 people. The Graivoronsky district of the region borders with the Ukrainian regions of Kharkov and Sumy in the south and in the west respectively.
On March 23, the state of emergency was introduced in two border villages of the Belgorod region - Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka, where three people were injured and more than 20 houses and cars were damaged due to the explosion of a projectile launched from Ukraine.
On the night of March 24, several explosions were recorded in Zhuravlevka: shells fell in a non-residential area of the village. In the evening of the same day, as a result of the shelling of Zhuravlevka, one person was killed. More than 40 houses and a school were damaged during the shelling of the village from Ukraine on April 14, one person suffered a shrapnel wound.
