Doctors bring child believed dead in road accident in Russia’s south back to life
Five children have died
MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Doctors have been able to bring back to life a child believed to be dead in a road accident with a bus in the Stavropol Region, a source in the regional emergencies services told TASS on Friday.
"The doctors have been able to bring a child believed to be dead in an accident with a bus back to life," the source said, adding that five children had died in the accident.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has sent investigators to the scene of the accident and is deciding on opening a criminal probe, the Investigative Committee’s press office told TASS. The press office of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry told TASS that psychologists of the ministry’s regional branch had also left for the scene of the accident. A group of nine rescuers and two special vehicles had been dispatched to the accident site, the ministry added.
On April 30, three vehicles collided on the Astrakhan-Stavropol highway, including a truck and a bus transporting children from Volgograd to Cherkessk for sports competitions. According to preliminary data, 19 people were injured in the accident while five others died. According to the source’s data, these are children aged 12-14. There are at least another nine minors hurt in the accident. They have been taken to hospital.
The regional road traffic police told TASS that a truck overturned on the road while performing a maneuver and fell onto a minivan.
