154 people arrested and 354 fined in Moscow for taking part in unsanctioned protests

MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. Moscow courts have arrested 154 people and issued 354 fines in the past week for the participation in unsanctioned mass protests on January 23 in the Russian capital, the press service of the Moscow City Court informed TASS.
In total, Moscow courts have received 1,608 cases on administrative violations on the outcomes of the unsanctioned rally.
On January 23, unsanctioned rallies in support of detained blogger Alexey Navalny were held in Moscow and numerous Russian cities. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office and the police repeatedly warned of liability for taking part in unsanctioned events.
