Kazakhstan registers magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Afghanistan

The quake felt life magnitude 2-3 in the city of Shymkent

NUR-SULTAN, January 17. /TASS/. A magnitude 6.0 earthquake was registered in Afghanistan by the Kazakhstan seismic stations network at 02:02 local time, seismological expedition of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan reported, adding that the quake felt life magnitude 2-3 in the city of Shymkent.

"The earthquake epicenter was located 823 km southwest from Alma Ata, on the territory of Afghanistan," the expedition said.

There were no reports of damages in the city of Shymkent.
