Man hurt in WWII landmine explosion in St. Petersburg

Presumably, it was a World War II landmine

ST. PETERSBURG, April 28. /TASS/. A man was wounded in an explosion in Russia’s second largest city of St. Petersburg, a spokeswoman for the local administration told TASS on Sunday.

"Presumably, it was a World War II landmine. A man was wounded. He is now in hospital," she said, adding that the incident took place on Oktybrskaya Embankment.

According to the spokeswoman, the man was picking up scrap metal when he ran into the mine. "The man has his arm ripped off," she said.
