Russia’s FSB disrupts amphetamine trafficking from Netherlands
A Bulgarian drug courier was caught red-handed during a police operation in the Moscow region
MOSCOW, April 17. /TASS/. Officers from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) have disrupted a route for trafficking amphetamine from the Netherlands, the FSB press service said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that 90 kilograms of amphetamine had been seized.
"The Federal Security Service and its foreign partners have conducted a multi-tiered operation to expose a criminal group that established a route for trafficking psychotropic substance amphetamine from the Netherlands to Russia using motor vehicles," the statement reads.
A Bulgarian drug courier was caught red-handed during a police operation in the Moscow region. "He was travelling from the Netherlands to Russia via Germany, Poland and Ukraine, his car had a specially designed hidden compartment from where at least 90 kilograms liquid amphetamine was seized," the FSB press service said.
According to the FSB, those who were to receive the drug shipment were have also been identified and detained. They are Russian and Belarussian nationals. While searching their house in the Moscow region, FSB officers discovered lab equipment and chemicals used to change liquid amphetamine into a solid form, as well as other items proving that the detained persons were involved in drug trafficking.
The Russian Investigative Committee opened criminal investigations into the detained.
