Eleven-month baby retrieved from Magnitogorsk collapsed building rubble flown to Moscow
According to doctors, the child has the closed head injury, hypothermia and frostbite
MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The 11-month baby pulled out of the rubble of a collapsed residential building in Magnitogorsk has been flown aboard a special plane to Moscow, TASS reports from the scene.
The special plane of Russia’s Federal Medical and Biological Agency has landed at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport where an emergency medical service vehicle is waiting for the baby.
The baby was found alive under the debris of the collapsed section of the ten-storey residential building more than 24 hours after the tragedy. According to doctors, the child has the closed head injury, hypothermia and frostbite.
A section of the ten-storey apartment block collapsed in Magnitogorsk on December 31. Officially, the death of nine people has been confirmed. The Russian Investigative Committee views a household gas explosion as the main cause of the accident.
