Monaco’s police chief, his deputy face charges in Rybolovlev case, media report

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. The Monaco prosecutor’s office has brought charges against nine more persons involved in the investigation of Russia’s billionaire, owner of the football club Monaco Dmitry Rybolovlev, the daily Nice-Matin said on Friday.
Charges of passive corruption, passive influence peddling and breach of confidentiality of inquiry were brought against criminal police chief Christophe Haget and his deputy Frederic Fusari.
Earlier, the prosecutor’s office put forward passive and active influence peddling and passive corruption charges against Monaco’s former Justice Minister Philippe Narmino. According to Nice-Matin, some charges were brought against the Monaco government’s former internal affairs counsellor Paul Masseron.
Dmitry Rybolovlev was detained in Monaco for questioning on Tuesday morning. His residence La Belle Epoque was searched. Among those detained were Rybolovlev’s attorney Tetiana Bersheda and several senior judicial officials. All of them are suspected of corruption.
After being questioned all those involved, including Narmino’s wife and son, were set free and placed under court supervision. According to Nice-Matin Rybolovlev, faces charges of active influence peddling, active corruption and complicity in the breach of confidentiality of inquiry.
