Crimean college reopens after attack
On October 17, a student went on a shooting rampage, detonated a bomb at the Kerch Polytechnic College in Crimea, and later committed suicide
SIMFEROPOL, October 23. /TASS/. Kerch Polytechnic College has reopened on Tuesday following an attack which killed 20 people, the Crimean Education Ministry press service told TASS.
On October 17, a Kerch Polytechnic College student opened fired in the college and detonated an explosive device, after which he committed suicide. About 50 people were hospitalized following the attack.
"Classroom hours are being held today, at which [the students] will earn the subsequent study procedures. The children have been receiving psychological help during these days," the source said, specifying that the lessons started at 08:30 am.
Lessons will be held in another college building.
Crimean Minister for Construction and Architecture Sergei Konov said that the building would be extensively repaired. He noted that following the primary inspection the building’s supporting structures seem unaffected by the explosion, but the final assessment will be given after an inspection with special equipment scheduled for the upcoming days.
