Fourth body recovered at plant blast site in St. Petersburg — emergencies ministry

The press service of the local administration confirmed that the death toll in the plant explosion has reached four people

ST. PETERSBURG, October 20. /TASS/. The fourth body has been recovered at the site of the explosion at the Avangard pyrotechnical devices plant near St. Petersburg, a spokesman for the local emergencies ministry told TASS on Saturday.

The spokesman added that the body was recovered at 1:15am Moscow time.

The press service of the local administration confirmed that the death toll in the plant explosion has reached four people. "A fourth body has been found," the press service said.

An explosion rocked the Avangard pyrotechnical devices plant near St. Petersburg on Friday. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry's main department in the Leningrad Region, the incident was first reported at around 4:45pm Moscow time. Investigators have not established the cause of the explosion yet but they are considering the possibility of violatoin of the technological process when manufacturing pyrotechnical products. The latest reports say four people were killed in the blast. Several plant employees and residents of neighboring areas were injured in the explosion.
