Lawyer suspected of complicity in embezzling over $5mln from Roscosmos detained
Earlier Igor Tretyakov was put on a federal wanted list
MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/. Igor Tretyakov, chairman of the Tretyakov & Partners law firm, has been detained on suspicion of complicity in embezzling of 330 million rubles (5.257 million US dollars) from Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos, a source in law enforcement agencies told TASS on Sunday.
"Igor Tretyakov has been detained," the source said.
Russia’s Investigative Committee told TASS earlier that investigators are pressing charges of embezzling 330 million rubles from Roscosmos against Lavochkin Research and Production Association CEO Sergei Lemeshevsky, Head of the Lavochkin Legal Department Yekaterina Averyanova and Igor Tretyakov, chairman of the Tretyakov & Partners law firm.
According to the investigators, the Lavochkin chief executive and his subordinate Averyanova, along with the head of the law firm are accused of stealing funds from Roscosmos by signing bogus agreements with the Tretyakov & Partners law firm for legal services, which in actual fact were performed by the employees of the Lavochkin Legal Department. Payments to the law firm amounted to 330 million rubles over two years.
Lemeshevsky and Averyanova were arrested till September 19 and Tretyakov was put on a federal wanted list.
Tretyakov told journalists earlier he was vacationing at Lake Baikal. Tretyakov & Partners said they had found out about the criminal case against Treyakov on July 25 when the company’s office had been searched by law enforcement officials. Tretyakov had already left for Irkutsk on by that day and was to return home on Sunday evening.
