6.0-magnitude quake jolts Japan

Earlier on Saturday, a tsunami threat was reported, but was withdrawn a while later

TOKYO, July 7. /TASS/. A strong earthquake shook Japan on Saturday. According to Japan Meteorological Agency, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.0, the epicenter was in the Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, and the seismic center was at a depth of 50 km.

No casualties or destruction have been reported. Initially a tsunami threat was announced, but a few minutes later the warning was withdrawn.

Local residents are encouraged not to panic and keep calm.
