Russia's MC-21 to make international debut in autumn 2018
Most probably it will happen at an air show in Southeast Asia, the industry and trade minister said
ANOSINO /Moscow Region/, April 6. /TASS/. Russia’s passenger liner MC-21 will be presented internationally in the autumn of 2018, most probably at an air show in Southeast Asia, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told the media on Friday.
"By the end of the year. Most likely it will happen in Southeast Asia in the autumn. I cannot recall the month or date right away. Most probably, October or November," he said, when asked when the MC-21 might be presented in the international scene.
MС-21 is a Russia-designed family of short-and medium-haul narrow fuselage passenger jets. The work on the project is proceeding at the Irkut Corporation, with the A.S. Yakovlev Experimental Design Bureau (an affiliate of Rostec) taking part. On May 28, 2017 the MС-21-300 performed the first flight in Irkutsk.
