Visa to examine possibility of launching store cash withdrawal service in Russia
The cash withdrawal amount will be limited to 5,000 rubles ($86.6) within the framework of pilot projects
MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Visa is considering an opportunity to launch a system in Russia making it possible to withdraw cash from bank cards at store counters and plans to present proposals on its introduction to banks later on, press service of the international payment system told TASS on Tuesday.
"Visa is currently considering options for process implementation of this service and plans to present proposals on its rollout to banks in future," the press service said.
MasterCard said earlier that it examines an opportunity to offer cash withdrawal from cards via POS terminals at store counters with many Russian banks. An option of withdrawing cash via store cash counters can promote growth of the cashless economy, MasterCard said.
