HAVANA, December 17. /TASS/. CEO of Russia’s oil major Rosneft, Igor Sechin, met with Cuba’s leader Raul Castro, Juventud Rebelde, a Cuban newspaper, said on Sunday.
"On Saturday evening, President of Cuba’s Council of State and Council of Ministers Raul Castro received CEO of the Russian oil company Rosneft, Igor Sechin, in Havana," the newspaper said, adding that taking part in the meeting were Russian Ambassador to Cuba Mikhail Kamynin and Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning and Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas.
Ahead of the meeting with Castro, Sechin had talks with Cabrisas to discuss cooperation between the two countries, the newspaper noted.
Earlier on Saturday, Sechin met with Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro to exchange views on cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
In May-June 2017, Rosneft supplied 200,000 tonnes of oil to Cuba. In November, the Russian company and Cuba’s Cubametales inked an agreement on further supplies of oil and oil products to Cuba.
