Russia ready to take part in restoring oil production in Syria - energy minister
Novak said he discussed this issue at the meeting with Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem
KUWAIT CITY, March 26. /TASS/. Russia is discussing its oil companies’ participation in restoring oil extracting infrastructure in Syria, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Seyassah.
"We constantly contact with our Syrian partners on the possible participation of companies from Russia in implementing oil and gas projects or restoring the already existing projects on Syria’s territory," Novak said.
Novak said he discussed this issue at the meeting with Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem. "We discussed in detail the issue of participation of major Russian companies in projects on prospecting and producing oil and gas in Syria, paying special attention to security," he added.
