Sakhalin Energy becomes most environmentally responsible oil and gas company in Russia
The environmental responsibility rating assesses the impact of oil and gas companies on environment and quality of corporate policy
MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Sakhalin Energy takes the lead in the environmental responsibility rating of oil and gas companies in Russia, followed by Gazprom and Surgutneftegaz, WWF Russia said on Friday in the new rating release.
Sakhalin Energy, the Sakhalin-2 project operator, reached the top position in the rating for the first time. The company became the leader in all rating sections: environmental management, environmental impact, and disclosure of information.
"This was achieved on account of indicators improvement and owing to availability of data for all research criteria in the public domain supported by the company," WWF Russia’s press service said.
The environmental responsibility rating assesses the impact of oil and gas companies on environment and quality of corporate policy. Sakhalin Energy has the rating of 1.8593 versus 1.5222 a year earlier.
