Four airlines apply for flights between Russia and Egypt — regulator

These companies are Yamal, Azur air, Pegas Fly and Nordwind Airlines

MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Four airlines have applied for flights between Russia and Egypt, the Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement.

These companies are Yamal, Azur air, Pegas Fly and Nordwind Airlines, the regulator said.

The information about the routes of these companies is included in the draft protocol to a meeting of the interdepartmental commission under Russia’s Transport Ministry. The commission is to decide on the approval of the applications.

In particular, all the four companies intend to fly from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurgada. Azur air and Nordwind Airlines also plan to fly to those cities from St. Petersburg.

The four companies applied for flying to Egyptian resort cities from Rostov-on-Don (Yamal and Azur air), Samara (Azur air, Yamal, Nordwind airlines) Yekaterinburg (Azur air, Yamal, Nordwind airlines)

The airlines also applied for flights to Egypt from Kazan, Kaliningrad and Krasnodar (Azur air), Ufa (Nordwind) and Nizhni Novgorod (Yamal).

The regulator said that it left it to the commission to decide on the routes and the commission will decide by voting.

In September, two airlines applied for flights to Egypt - IrAero (from Omsk to Hurgada and Sharm el-Sheikh) and Pegas Fly (from Zhukovsky to Cairo, Hurgada and Sharm el-Sheikh). The regulator said that the permit may be granted and it is up to the commission to decide.
