Aluminum producer Rusal to analyze potential losses from Ukrainian sanctions
MOSCOW, October 18. /TASS/. Russian aluminum producer Rusal is analyzing potential losses from inclusion of its subsidiaries into the Ukraine’s sanctions list and developing measures to mitigate them, press service of the Russian company said.
"Inclusion of Rusal’s subsidiaries and employees into the sanction list is unjustified by nature. Rusal and affiliated companies do not influence on political processes occurring in the territory of Ukraine, do not create threat to national security and do not obstruct economic development of the country," Rusal said.
Inclusion of Rusal’s subsidiaries into the sanctions list is damaging for shareholders and the company is currently performing legal due diligence of such acts, Rusal said. The company will demand compensation in court in case sanctions inflict damage, the press service reported.
Ukraine extended the sanction list of Russian companies and individuals, particularly including Rusal and Judson Trading Limited (Cyprus) related to the Russian producer.
