Deputy PM hopes flights between Russia, Egypt to resume before year end
According to Russia’s deputy PM, Egypt still has to install certain safety equipment
ROME, October 6. /TASS/. Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said he hoped that air travel with Egypt would be restored before the end of the year.
"I hope so. At least, the situation in Cairo (International) Airport is better now," he said when asked whether it would be possible to resume flights between Russia and Egypt before the end of this year. Dvorkovich added that Egypt still had to install certain safety equipment, which had already been ordered, but still needs to be delivered. He also said that it is difficult for him to say whether the Egyptians would manage to meet all of Russia’s safety requirements and remove all the gaps in its national airports in October.
TASS earlier reported that the issue of resuming air traffic between Russia and Egypt could be discussed at a meeting chaired by Dvorkovich on October 10.
