An analogue of foreign systems will be delivered at the end of 2017, and the process is expected to go "smoothly"
MOSCOW, October 4. /TASS/. Russia’s aircraft-building company Ilyushin plans to stop using imported components in the military transport planes Ilyushin-76 by 2018, the company’s CEO, Sergey Velmozhkin, has told TASS.
"The Ilyushin-76 has only one foreign system - that of preventing mid-air collision. An analogue of domestic manufacture will be delivered at the end of 2017. There will be no special problems with import substitution," he said.
Russia has resumed the production of parts and components still being taken from old reserves, Velmozhkin said.
"If everything proceeds smoothly, there should be no problems, including with equivalents of Ukrainian parts," he added.
