Iran supplied 38 tonnes of heavy water to Russia in September — Head of Rosatom
VIENNA, September 26. /TASS/. Iran supplied 38 tonnes of heavy water to Russia in September, head of the Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom Sergey Kirienko said at the 60th Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference.
"I can inform my dear colleagues that from September 13 to 20 two flights delivered 38 tonnes of Iranian heavy water to Russia," he said.
Kirienko added that Russian is continuing to work with Iran on modification of two cascades of the plant in Fordow and the production of stable isotopes.
Under the agreement on Iran’s nuclear program (joint actions plan), Iran will keep on its territory not more than 300 kg of uranium enriched to 3.67%, as well as not more than 130 tonnes of heavy water
On December 28 2015, Iran shipped all enriched uranium and nuclear materials from its territory, which made it possible to declare January 16 as the Day of the start of implementation of the joint comprehensive action plan.
"Separately, I would like to mention our work on Iran's nuclear program. We have an informal approach to the implementation of the joint comprehensive action plan. We helped them even with those activities that were not related to our area of ··responsibility," Kirienko said.
