Iran’s oil minister urges implementation of agreements with Russia’s Lukoil
In his turn, Lukoil’s President expressed his company’s willingness to work in Iran
TEHERAN, September 19. /TASS /. Iran’s oil minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh has urged establishing long-term cooperation between the National Iranian Oil Company and Russian oil major Lukoil, as well as sooner implementation of the agreements that were reached earlier, Iran’s news agency Shana reported on Monday.
Speaking at a meeting with head of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov in Tehran the minister said.
"Lukoil was the first (of foreign companies - TASS) to sign a memo of understanding with Iran for the development of one of our oil fields. We hope that this agreement will soon be implemented," Zangeneh said.
In his turn, Lukoil’s President expressed his company’s willingness to work in Iran.
"We have two agreements with the Iranian government to explore territories and specific fields that we find promising," Vagit Alekperov said as quoted by the company’s press service.
During his business trip in Iran, Vagit Alekperov also met with the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Ali Kardor.
The parties discussed the development of Ab Teymour and Mansouri oil fields in the south-west of the Khuzestan province as well as oil production in the Persian Gulf.
