Russian Far East Development Ministry to cooperate with Japan’s JETRO
TOKYO, September 8. /TASS/. Russia’s Far East Development Ministry plans to cooperate with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in promoting the Far East potential for Japanese investors, Far East Development Minister Alexander Galushka told TASS on Thursday after the second day of his visit to the Japanese capital.
"At a meeting with the CEO and Chairman of JETRO, Hiroyuki Ishige, we agreed to work towards the signing of an agreement on information cooperation between the Organization and Russia’s Far East Agency in attracting investment and supporting exports," he said.
Galushka also said that the parties planned "to hold during next visits a presentation for the Japanese businesses of new opportunities for investment and the implementation of projects in the Far East." "Colleagues from JETRO proposed to gather a wide audience of Japanese investors", he added.
Galushka is on a visit to Japan, which is a continuation of the recently concluded negotiations of the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). On Wednesday, he held a meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, who on September 1 was also appointed to the post of the minister responsible for the development of economic cooperation with Russia.
