US Delta Airlines to resume flights to Russia in spring 2017
MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. American Delta Airlines will resume direct flights between Russia and the United States in the summer schedule of 2017 (begins in late March), airline representative told TASS on Tuesday.
Media reported earlier that Delta Airlines stops flights from Russia on September 7.
The company representative told TASS, that this is nothing new, and flights will be really suspended for the winter starting from September 7.
"We have seasonal flights, only in summer time. Next time the flights will be resumed," the representative said.
According to the representative of the airline, the last Delta Airlines flight in the summer schedule of 2016 will be held on Tuesday. The flight DL 217 Moscow - New York took off from Sheremetyevo at 13:45 MSK.
Last December, Delta Airlines suspended flights to Russia, resuming the schedule in mid-May 2016. The airline operated direct flight from Russia only from Moscow to New York.
It was reported earlier that lowcoster airline Eurowings, owned by Lufthansa, canceled flights to Russia, as well as Air Berlin.
