VLADIVOSTOK, September 2. /TASS/. Novatek estimates liquefied natural gas (LNG) production potential in Yamal and Gydan areas as 100 mln tonnes yearly, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian natural gas producer Leonid Mikhelson said on Friday at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"Russia’s LNG potential in Yamal and Gydan areas is estimated as 100 mln tonnes a year," Mikhelson said.

Mikhelson also suggested that Japan’s investors take part in the next corporate project. "Japan’s counterparts are not among Yamal LNG shareholders but they make take part in the next Novatek’s project - Arctic LNG," he said. Their participation serves the interests of the Japanese side, Mikhelson said.
