Sollers plans to double car export in 2017
Sollers plans to double the sales in 2017 and to raise the share of export to 25% in the coming years
VLADIVOSTOK, September 1. /TASS/. The Sollers carmaker plans to double its car export in 2017, and to raise the share of export to 25% within the three years, Sollers Director General Vadim Shvetsov told reporters on Thursday.
"Export sale is expected to double in the next year. Our products, which UAZ manufactures, are very competitive on the world’s markets," he said. "Our goal is to achieve 25% from the overall output in the next three years. Now the indicator is at least about 7%, but we hope that it will make up 8% by the en
d of the year," Shvetsov said.
In his words, the countries of Asia, Middle East and Africa are the key markets for Sollers. "The company exports a bit to Latin America. We started to deliver our cars to China, but our export to that country is insufficient. Our product carved out a certain niche on China’s market, as our cars have unique design. We also started deliveries to Vietnam. Traditionally we export our cars to Egypt," the company’s head said, adding that Sollers plans to start car export to Chile next year.
Sollers is Russia’s carmaker co-operating with such world’s famous car manufacturers as Ford, SsangYong and Mazda. The industrial facilities belonging to the concern produce Russia-designed UAZ off-roaders, South Korean SsangYong, as well as gasoline and diesel engines.
Under earlier reports, Ford Sollers’ export reached 400 cars in 2015. In 2016, the company forecasts the hike in export to 1,500 cars.
