Ukraine suffers more from disrupting economic ties with Russia — expert
"Ukraine lost a lost from severance of economic ties with Russia. It would be better not to disrupt and terminate them, because Ukraine lost more than Russia," ex-economy minister of Ukraine said
KIEV, August 20. /TASS/. Ukrainian economy’s losses after destabilization of trade relations with Russia are higher than the ones sustained by the latter, ex-economy minister of Ukraine Viktor Suslov said on Saturday.
"Ukraine lost a lost from severance of economic ties with Russia. It would be better not to disrupt and terminate them, because Ukraine lost more than Russia," the expert said on the air with 112. Ukraine TV Channel.
Ukraine’s trade volume with the EU member-states is greater than with Russia but it also declined by nearly 15% in the first half of the year, Suslov said. "It is falling in the last two years, rather than growing. It declines even more in respect of Russia," he said.
"All that evidences deep recession of the Ukrainian economy," the expert added.
